The founder of School Dynamics® education-business partnership, Sharon has worked with school Heads, staff, students, Business Managers, Marketing Managers and Governors over many years to understand their requirements and develop the programmes our specialists now deliver. Sharon’s background is in pre-sales, marketing, leadership and team development and she is an experienced business journalist and presentations coach. Sharon delivers our Year 8/9 business awareness courses and customised confidence-building and personal impact programmes for Sixth-Formers.
With a background including many years’ experience in wide-ranging marketing roles, including working in large corporate marketing departments, Marian leads our schools marketing team helping schools and colleges make effective use of marketing and communications collateral. Whether it’s a bespoke plan for an individual project or a complete end-to-end programme from initial concept through to implementation, Marian and her team at Fusion Creative Marketing are experts in branding and corporate identity, website content, brochures, newsletters, advertising and direct marketing, all supported by cost-effective in-house design, photography and print management capability.
Supporting our Business & Enterprise and Life Skills programmes, Brian’s formative business career was spent building a successful UK chain of Photographic Stores. He was then asked by a major Japanese company to move into the corporate world as Director and General Manager which he did successfully for over 20 years. In 2004, Brian qualified as a Management Coach and NLP practitioner and is highly experienced in delivering programmes in leadership, people development, team-building and presentation skills. His long business experience is invaluable in supporting, mentoring and inspiring the businesspeople of the future.
Talia is a flamenco dancer with over three decades of experience. She trained extensively in Seville, Jerez and Madrid at prestigious academies such as Amor de Dios, Escuela de Baile Manolo Marín and Peña los Cernícalos. Talia has worked extensively with children and young adults, and in many primary and secondary schools around London. Leading our performance-based programmes, Talia uses dance as a discipline within itself and also a means by which people connect with their innate self-confidence and imagination. This has been found to have an enormous impact on all other areas of their lives including the ability to learn and assimilate other kinds of knowledge.
Ken has worked in education for 40 years, including 26 years as a Headteacher. He is the founder of Headsupport (UK) Ltd, assisting new and existing Headteachers and senior leadership teams in developing their roles and their schools and leading inspection teams into private and government schools in Abu Dhabi. He is Branch Secretary for the National Association of Headteachers in Westminster and serves as a magistrate and Chair of the Youth Magistrates’ Bench in NW London. Ken has led many schools through challenging situations; reorganisation of staff roles; finance, budget and facilities planning, including managing major school refurbishments and building projects. Ken has served on Westminster City Council Scrutiny Committee, as Chair of Westminster Headteachers Executive and a member of Westminster Children’s Trust Board.
Malcolm was Head Teacher of a large school for 10 years before moving into the corporate world as Training Manager for GSK and then Learning & Development Manager for Barclays. Malcolm is a qualified psychometric tester and is experienced in delivering courses in leadership, people development, teambuilding, project and time management, organisational dynamics and recruitment. Malcolm has a Masters degree in Management and is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.
Sue’s career began in secondary education teaching PE and Computer Studies as a Scale 2 Head of Department. She then worked as Training Manager for two PC companies before completing an MBA at the London Business School and working for Xerox for 10 years, with four years as Head of UK Customer Training. After a career break in 1998 to compete in a round-the-world yacht race, Sue joined an organisational behavioural consultancy working with blue-chip companies in the UK and Europe, assessing and developing leadership teams and managers. Sue helps individuals and teams to work co-operatively, identifying and developing leadership skills, streamlining processes and driving change programmes.
Fay is an experienced Education Practitioner, trainer and freelance journalist. She uses her original acting training to help her deliver public speaking and presentation skills workshops. Fay worked for Shakespeare’s Globe Education for several years, delivering workshops enlivening Shakespeare’s language to primary, secondary, SEN and international students and also ran her own theatre education & public speaking enterprise for many years. In addition to her teaching experience, Fay has worked for multinational companies such as EPSON, Fuji, KBR & Urban Airship.
Before becoming an executive coach , James spent nearly 30 years in industry, the last 11 as a CEO of international companies. He holds two postgraduate qualifications in coaching, studied Applied Psychology for four years at the London Institute of Psychosynthesis and is an AC (Association for Coaching) accredited coach. He is also certified to use the FIRO Elements (B, F & S) and Belbin team role psychological tools. James’s leadership experience, psychological training and knowhow in coaching leaders led him to write a best-selling book, The Three Levels of Leadership, published in Spring 2011.
Phil is a successful marketer helping companies understand their markets and why customers really buy from them; planning the marketing strategically (the overall plan); tactical implementation, advising on the full range of activities from market analysis, product specification and management through to cost-effective communications programmes. PR can be highly effective in raising schools’ profiles and awareness amongst their target market, often more effective than advertising. We help schools develop a co-ordinated marketing and PR strategy linking all their marketing and online communications.
Veena is an experienced and knowledgeable Conference and Events Organiser with a long track record of success in hotel and agency operations, business development and as consultant to academic and professional associations. Veena helps organisations of all sizes with full service conference and event management including conference design, registration, site and venue selection, audio-visuals, IT/logistics, marketing, printing and web services, sourcing speakers, funding and sponsorship. All these services are available to schools planning and organising individual events or seeking to outsource their event planning.
Philippa brings her specialist social media knowledge to our schools programmes with a range of tailored workshops for students, parents, staff and governors. We explore how social media including LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and a host of corporate and individual broadcast and blog services have revolutionized how people of all ages communicate online and how these services interact with, target and sell to younger people in particular. As those students head to further education and the world of work, we help them understand how to use social media for their benefit and how to build, maximize and protect their Internet profiles to meet the needs of employers.
David is an entrepreneurial accountant and independent business adviser with experience in manufacturing, banking, wholesale and retail sectors. He presented regularly at a Business School for independent consultants, delivering an acclaimed course on Financial Awareness for Responsible Management. David has translated the key principles of these courses into a practical, customised programme for schools to improve young people’s financial and budgeting skills and money management capability. David is a Fellow of the Institute for Certified and Corporate Accountants and the Institute for Independent Business.
A qualified coach with a Post Graduate Diploma in Strategic Business Coaching from the Chartered Management Institute, with a certificate in Lifelong Learning in Leadership from Coventry University, Alison is a Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), an NLP Master Coach, Master Practitioner of Time Line Therapy™ and an accredited Thomas International practitioner, authorised to deliver their behavioural and emotional intelligence psychometric assessments. With a successful background in IT, including working as director of a training division for an international software company, Alison supports our student leadership and teamwork training programmes.
With a Masters Degree in Leadership and consistently judged outstanding in her career as a teacher and Head Teacher, Hil is a successful NLP Master Practitioner and Coach. She works across business, education and the NHS, as a coach, facilitator and trainer, with a focus on communication, innovative thinking, coaching skills and strategic planning. Hil has worked with the East Midland Adviser Group and a Government ‘Improving Intelligence National Steering Group’. She is a volunteer mentor for the Prince’s Trust and supports the Parent Carer Council. Working with our Midlands regional team Hil is supporting our Sixth Form leadership and teamwork training programmes.
The son of the renowned international baritone Benjamin Luxon CBE, Dan is a professional Tenor who has performed in venues from the Royal Albert Hall and The Barbican to regional theatres and clubs around the UK and overseas. Dan also directs opera and has produced acclaimed operas at North London’s premier theatrical venue, Artsdepot. Dan teaches practical vocal and theatrical techniques to help people perform better when they have to “stand and deliver” and he runs a range of operatically-orientated training and events. Dan has worked with schools and colleges teaching confidence-building techniques as well as introducing opera to students from the ages of 7-17.
