Christine’s career has been in education, with over 20 years in senior leadership roles, first as a deputy and then as a Headteacher for 14 years. She has worked across both the maintained and independent sectors and across junior and senior phases. Her areas of experience span recruitment, strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation, project management, the training, development and appraisal of staff, marketing and the raising of standards. Christine’s approach is one which emphasises teamwork and collaboration, thereby facilitating the management of change. She is also able to mentor senior teams in schools so as to enhance their effectiveness as leaders. Christine leads our younger-years’ economic awareness and Mini-Enterprise programmes.
Christine has been instrumental in establishing differentiators for schools in competitive markets, notably in the field of student leadership and ILM certification for Sixth-Formers. By providing skills training for students they are able to work effectively in teams and take on real life projects in the local community and in running their school, giving them a head start for university and for their future careers.
Linda’s career spans 30 years in education. She has experience of transformational change and leadership in schools. Linda has been involved in strategic leadership and management in an educational environment and has been instrumental in leadership development for schools management and teaching staff. Linda was a pioneer of Leadership training for school pupils and has successfully led a number of Leadership Development programmes for 16-18 year olds. Her approach is to provide pupils with the opportunity to learn by taking on real projects in which they are entirely responsible for providing services to a community inside or outside of the school. This learning approach creates an environment in which the pupils are exposed to the risk of project failure and are encouraged to manage these risks “without a teacher to sort out the problems”. This is supported by skills training, coaching and project reviews to help the pupils to identify issues and to manage the projects themselves.
Philippa has worked extensively with individuals and businesses to understand how social media can help them grow and develop. Now she brings her specialist knowledge to our schools programmes to our Social Media training team. With a range of tailored workshops for students, parents, staff and governors, we explore how social media including LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and a host of corporate and individual broadcast and blog services have revolutionized how people of all ages communicate online and how these services interact with, target and sell to younger people in particular. Then as those students head out of Sixth Form into university and the world of work, we help them understand how to use social media for their benefit and how to build, maximize and protect their Internet profiles to meet the needs of employers.

Supporting the development and delivery of our financial and teamwork training programmes and our work with school business managers, Martin began his working life as an operational HR Manager and compensation specialist in organisations such as The Automobile Association and the old EMI Group and spent four years in HR in the music business with EMI Records and PolyGram Leisure. He then changed career and went to work for a private commercial finance company, rising through the ranks to become Operations Director in charge of the day-to-day running of this multi-million pound turnover business.
The property collapse in the 1990s led to the closure of the company and Martin set up his own management consultancy providing assistance to smaller businesses in finance, HR and business strategy. Martin’s pro-bono work includes acting as a Trustee and Honorary Treasurer for Artsdepot community arts centre in Finchley and as a Board member of the North London Chamber of Commerce.

Before becoming an executive coach , James spent nearly 30 years in industry, the last 11 as a CEO of international companies. He holds two postgraduate qualifications in coaching, studied Applied Psychology for four years at the London Institute of Psychosynthesis and is an AC (Association for Coaching) accredited coach. He is also certified to use the FIRO Elements (B, F & S) and Belbin team role psychological tools.
Not many coaches have led organisations as a CEO. Even fewer have undergone six years of technical and psychological training in preparing to become a coach. This rare combination gives James unusual insight into the pressures leaders face, the beliefs they hold, what they feel about themselves and how to help them grow. His leadership experience, psychological training and knowhow in coaching leaders has led him to write a book, The Three Levels of Leadership, published in Spring 2011.
